On my first visit to a neurologist (during the exam) we noticed that my
ankles and feet were very swollen. The neurologist told me to see my
primary ASAP. The following day, my primary had a referral ready for a vein
and arterial ultrasound of my legs and another referral to a peripheral
vascular disease specialist. I have not been diagnosed with PD at this
point and am not taking any specific PD medications, so I can not comment on
the effects of amantadine. However, if your neurologist did not check the
circulation in your legs or your heart, then you should probably see your
family doctor as soon as you can.
