Part 1:  Pallidotomy, thalamotomy and fetal cell
neurotransplantation in the treatment of Parkinson's Disease and
Huntington's Disease.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Participants in this evening symposium will learn to:

     Discuss the differential diagnostic criteria for Parkinsons'
     Disease and other Parkinson's-like syndromes and the
     treatment implications.

     Discuss the criteria for referral of patients with movement
     disorders for radiofrequency pallidotomy, thalamotomy, or
     neurotransplantation.

     Discuss the clinical effects of functional neurosurgery for
     patients undergoing pallidotomy, thalamotomy and
     neurotransplant and understand potential side effects and
     risks.


ACCREDITATION

Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor
