My wife took amantadine briefly a few years ago. She was taking
Sinemet at the time, and amantadine was supposed to enhance its effect. It
was not of help, and it had no bad side effects.
She took artane for 2 or 3 years around 1990, at which time she had
had PD for about 3 or 4 years. It ultimately affected her sensorium so
badly - delusions, disorientation, etc. - that it had to be discontinued.
