                                                                         This
article examines possible means of controlling the "relentless
progressivenes" of Parkinson's disease; discusses oxidative stress
and the rationale for neuroprotective therapy; and briefly reviews current
proposals regarding levodopa plus anticholinergics, agonists, antioxidants,
and selegiline(Eldepryl).

Author contends that since symptom control becomes more erratic
and even refractory to treatment as Parkinson's disease advances, although
there is no definitive proof of neuroprotective effect,
the use of selegiline is a "reasonale treatment choice."
Note: also mentions the hazzard of Eldepyl-Demerol combination.Parkinsn
