Thanks to Ben McKeen, Margaret Tuchman, Bob Howard and others who have already addressed me thru this wonderful list on this subject. I have started to have a reaction to my increase use of the mouse, namely pain & weakness in my neck. I think the amount of scrolling I do reading the list, copying certain items into separate files is getting to me. So I will need to pace myself more on this activity. Any suggestions? I was very struck by certain similarities in Ben's approach to his neck pain and my own. I found that pt and traction worsened it for the most part and that massage seemed to help some. Part of your message, Ben, was: "Neurologist who specializes in Dystonia. His diagnosis was Cervical Dystonia, probaby agravated by Dyskinesia (I have quite a lot of involuntary head movement) and maybe a touch of arthritis. He gave me an injection of Botox in my neck.(Botulinum Toxin Type A) Currently I have some stiffness in my neck but it is pretty much pain free. BTW, I am also taking Naproxen, 500mg once or twice a day. I believe this is a Rx dose of the same stuff thats in Aleve. In summary, I feel a whole lot better than I have for months and I wish the best of luck to all you neck pain sufferers." This sounds very right on to me, so much so that I was referred a few months ago to a neuro who was only described to me as a specialist in botox injections. Only the upshot of his evaluation was that the botox had great potential initially in further weakening my neck tissues and that it was too risky for me. Can you tell me whether you got "worse" before you got "better?" Barbara Blake Krebs [log in to unmask]
