The close vision prescription is usually prepared with an assumed distance -- eye-to-paper -- of 12 inches or so. I accept this for use in my bifocals, but obtain, in addition, a computer single vision prescription for 24 inches -- my usual eye-to-screen distance. I get this set of glasses cut for my very comfortable frames and get it in glass instead of plastic so that I can leave them anywhere on my desk.
