Joyce... I had immediate excellent results from the pallidotomy (was on the left side only), however, still tire easily which might be due in part to unmitigated stress. 14 months after the surgery I got SOOO fed up at the extra weight that I started counting calories. Dropped down to about 900 per day (AAAARGH!) for 8 weeks. I didn't lose a single pound during that time, however didn't gain any either. Tho I've resumed eating normally, since my regular diet is relatively low calorie -low fat, and have at least apparently stopped the dramatic weight gain. I KNOW I need ot add in regular exercise wihich might make a significant difference in my metabolism, but haven't yet done so. I think Im tired all the time because of the added tonnage that I cant handle mentally and physically. I going to begin the gym with Chuck and do ride the exercycle in the house. Ill start the treadmill soon. Give me some hope, did you loose anything in all that time since the op. Joyce
