Hello,
I joined this group three weeks ago and have been reading messages
daily. I
am 40 years old, diagnosed when 31, and haved lived successfully with
PD. I
say successfully because, fortunately, I have a vey good employer and support
group. I have been able to keep the "parkinson's bears" from nipping at my
heels by trying to maintain a positive attitude and plenty of exerciseTOP

My med's. are Sinemet, CR, and eldepryl. I have tried parlodel, permax and
amandatine with good physical response but devastating mental results. I
suffered from various stages of depression and confusion on all of them.
This occurred at even minimal dosages.

Like many of you, my symptons increased after a stressful period. The
dyskinesia is ready to drive me crazy.

I am scheduled for a unilateral (left) pallidotomy at the end of this month
at Mass. General. I am searching for anybody who has had it done at MGH.
Please e-mail your experiences to me. I will reply after I have it done.

Has anyone put off having a pallidotomy because better treatment is "close".
I would appreciate your comments.

Thanks for listening and responses. If any other PD'errs wish to chat,
e-mail me. [log in to unmask] I selected "400400" during an off period and
it was all I could manage to come up with.
