Speaking of Eldepryl, I've been wanting to pose this question to the
group for some time.

A couple of months ago, one of the main PD neurologists here in town took
his patients off Eldepryl, due (I think) to a study in Great Britain
which showed some increased mortality rates for people who took it over
the long run.

This was not my husband's (Ed/age 49/dx 3 yrs ago) doctor, but we decided
to have Ed go off of it, based on that study and what others here were
being told. Problem: when he did not take it, he was in much pain as
far as aching muscles and joints...therefore, he went back on it after
about 3 weeks off.

Questions: Have any of you heard these negative rumblings about Eldepryl
or about this study in Great Britain producing cautious
            results for takers of Eldepryl?

Does Eldepryl help your PD symptoms or the pain? We were
told at first that taking it mainly helped slow the
            progression over the years.

Thanks for any reply you all would like to give...Our support group meets
tommorrow; I'm taking the Donahue tape
