Hi Liz, Further to our comments on drug costs, while we have an excellent health care system in Canada, the Ontario government is cutting back on funding. A young man (37) was scheduled for a deep brain stimulation procedure this month. We learned last night that the surgery has been postponed indefinitely because the Toronto hospital had to close an operating room to reduce costs. Our only PD specialist in London is moving to British Columbia in September because, according to our newspaper, " The prospect of working with other researchers in his field is a key factor in his decision to leave London, the provincial Tory health care cutbacks are never far from his mind." About 500 people across the region are treated by this neurologist, so this means the closest PD specialist a two hour drive away. This has been upsetting for many of us. Judith
