Hello,

I have just had a very disturbing experience. I need to let it go,
and feel like "talking" to you because may understand or sympathize
with it.

As I have written before, my mom-in-law Suraiya, has PD. She was
diagnosed 11 yrs. She is 54 and just retired this year (was elem.
teacher) because of PD. She has tremors and freezing as her major
impediments. She is from Bangladesh.

Her husband, Sydney, is from Trinidad. Recently they returned from
Trinidad for a 3 wk vacation to visit his relatives. While there,
she visited a "massuese". Now, Sydney believes that she is cured
of PD. He is trying to prevent her from taking her medications. He
is acting very rash and won't listen to reason.

I don't know what to do. Sohrab (my husband) has brought her back to
our house. She had a lot of trouble accepting her PD. Thanks to a lot
of family and friend support and this list, she has finally taken
hold of her PD. I fear this will be devasting.

For those Canadians out there (I live in Quebec), there must be
socail services available, councling, or some kind of aide...? Where
do I go to look for these things?

Thanks for letting me get this out.
