Dear Barbara:
It was nice to be welcomed to the PARKINSN list by you. I truly enjoy the
exchange among participants. It is informative and gives me a feeling of
not being so alone with this disease.

I was diaganosed with PD in June '95, only two years after retirment from
the University of WIsconsin-Madison at age 55. Naturally, I was devastated
and in disbelief, wondering how, why, etc. After a year, I am finally
beginning to accept it and to lighten up, thanks to a Madison Support group
and now this exchange.

I experience only minor tremor; mostly suffer from gait problems, but I
have a burning feeling in my neck that comes and goes every day. The
neurologists don't know what brings it on, insisting it's not from Sinemet
(dosage: 2-3 per day of 25/100--also take Eldepryl). All I know is that it
began with the first use of Sinemet and sometimes worsens with higher
levels of activity or an alcholic drink. Pain killers are ineffective.
Wonder if anyone else has this symptom or could recommend something for it?

Again, thanks for the welcome and for this network exchange.

Sincerely,
Millie Seaman
