Coordinator, Western Effective Writing Program - Student Development
Centre - TM Status (to April 30, 1997) - Salary: $3405./month.
Minimum Requirements:  graduate degree  and several years' experience
teaching writing at a university level; experience in curriculum and
materials development; training in teaching; experience selecting,
training and supervising personnel for teaching roles; knowledge in
and experience with computer-assisted instruction.  Preferred
Requirements:  training and experience in teaching English as a
second language; familiarity with university administration.  Major
Responsibilities:  to develop, manage, staff and evaluate the
University's Effective Writing Program for students; to deliver a
portion of the Program's services.

English Language Specialist, Western Effective Writing Program -
Student Development Centre - CW Status  (to April 30, 1997;
approximately 18 hours per week) - Salary: $22.01 per hour.  Minimum
Requirements:  graduate degree, advanced-level training and several
years' experience in teaching English as a second language; several
years' experience teaching writing at the university level; training
in teaching; knowledge in and experience with computer-assisted
instruction. Preferred Requirements:  familiarity with university
administration.   Major Responsibilities:  under the direction of the
Coordinator, to work directly with the student population to deliver
the programs for the Western Effective Writing Program; to conduct
individual assessment sessions relating to student writing problems;
to keep abreast of literature in the field of writing skills
assessment, development, remediation and ESL assessment and training.
