Monica,

Your letter could have been written by me! We're looking at the Clozaril
option that was mentioned in someone else's post. My dads dementia has been
on and off for years, but mostly "On" right now. He is always attending
meetings with old co-workers, and is quite concerned with his poor work
attendance, which he blames on me because I put him in a nursing home! I
have not had much luck interspersing reality into the dementia. Dad thinks
it is 1966. That would make me 9 yrs old - but yet he know who my children
are... Dad retired in '79, but we are also re-living that decision.
Sometimes he will realize how disjointed things are and we all have a good
laugh. John Cott. sent me info on CLozaril, and if we start that, it will
be in mid to late August. I'll keep you posted. Read the info regarding
the problems associated with Clozaril. We have serious low BP already - and
are not sure at this point of the route to go.

Part of my dilemma is when and whether or not to let the PD take it's course
 - or to keep up the fight. He
hates the NH, and maybe it's better to have all his old friends to talk to!
