I have been reading the posts about olfactory (smell) hallucinations
with interest and wanted to comment that certain kinds of temporal lobe
seizures are associated with an olfactory aura. In some cases, there
is no convulsive activity, only strange behavioral stuff. If people
are having such auras, an EEG may be in order, followed by possible
treatment with anticonvulsant medication.

Best,

Bob
