A note to all: I've now heard from 3 people who find that plant protein
does not have the inhibiting effects of animal protein, and will be

Kathrynne,

First I want to thank you for your participation in this list. Your=20
comments on nutrition have been very informative and useful to both=20
Dorothy (63/pd10) and myself.

In response to your note on 7/8, I would like to say that Dorothy has=20
been a vegan for about the past 3 years after reading an article on=20
animal vs plant protein in a Parkinson=92s newsletter. She firmly believ=
es=20
that this helps her manage her PD symptoms.

I am concerned that we get enough of the right protein with our=20
vegetarian diet. Lavon J. Dunne=92s NUTRITION ALMANAC 3rd Ed discusses=20
protein. It states that =93most vegetables and fruits are=20
incomplete-protein foods. To obtain a complete-protein meal from=20
incomplete proteins, one must combine foods carefully so that those weak=20
in an essential amino acid will be balanced by those adequate in the same=
=20
amino acid.=94 This raises the question of what plants, if any, are=20
complete-protein foods? How can we know what combination of=20
incomplete-protein foods will result in a complete-protein meal?
