I have tried to keep quiet the last several weeks, but I am afraid, although
I did hope otherwise, I still can be provoked. It's obvious that
despite the fact that UTC has been proclaimed "dead", the unholy hate war
between the "UofT" and UTCS/UTCC/UTC continues.

The people who work in central computing are as everyone else. Most are
smart and dedicated, some by now are fed up and discouraged. There is no
respect shown whatsoever to any of them. The ones who do not care, and
don't deserve respect, strive and are promoted. The ones who do care are
slowly getting out. Or did you not notice the exodus of the networking
people? May be this is desirable for now. But in the long run it ain't
smart.

Now I finally get to the adjective "clueless". I have no idea where Tom
Glinos was brought up, it was not the sys-admin school I attended for
sure, and I protest his implied statement that "sys-admins" and "public
insults" go together.

Tom, I know it is difficult to see the things the way they really are.
But do try. Dave, you too. And you will see that Debbie Stewart's people
are Good Guys. Start taking chunks out of people who deserve it, if you
must.

With best regards to all of you,

Anna M. Pezacki, a private person, sys-admin emeritus.
