With the greatest sorrow I was asked to notify the List readers of the death of
Alan Bonander. Alan was a frequent contributor to the List. He was a charter
member of the Young Onset Parkinsons group and was a past president of that
organization in California.
Alan was born on May 14, 1940 and died at home on August 1, 1996. Not
only did Alan suffer from PD diagnosed 12 years ago, he had asthma and it
was the asthma which caused his death.
Alan visited Sweden and had a pallidotomy with surgery performed by Dr.
Laitinen.
His survivors include his wife, Jane and two sons, Jason and Ross. Jane
resides at the family home at 506 Riviera Place, San Ramon, CA 94583. His
sister Evelyn lives Boston, MA.
Memorial services will be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
contributions be made to the National Parkinsons Foundation, 1501 NW 9th
Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami Florida 33136-1494.
