You might want to try a blanket tent at the bottom of your bed.  Blankets
don't seem very heavy, but they end up putting a lot of pressure on your
feet and this pressure could be causing the "hot spots" on your heels.  A
blanket tent is a little frame that fits at the bottom of the bed and holds
the blankets up off your feet.  You still stay warm though.  The tent really
helped my grandpa.
