Friends-- Just now I received a phone call from our fellow list-member
Ivan Suzman with some very bad news-- his house burned completely to the
ground on Wed. night at about 11:00 PM, and he has lost*everything*--
clothes, furnishings, personal papers, published poetry, art work, and
souvenirs of his 7 years in South Africa. Fortunately, he has a network
of supportive friends, as well as a couple of CGs who have helped him
with "daily living". He will be staying for the rest of this week with one cou
ple, Anita and Gerald Talbot,132 Glenwood Ave.,Portland,ME,04103. Their
phone # is (207) 772-6098. By MOn. or Tues. he will be with Helen and Earl
McCann, 168 Clark St,Apt.2,Portland,ME 04102 (207)774-0702. I was asked to
let the list know that as his computer was incinerated along with all else,
he will be off the list for a while. But also, though he didn't say so, I'm
sure he would appreciate notes of support from others on the list. He has
insurance on the house, and plans to move into a trailer in the driveway
while the house is rebuilt. He is glad not to have been trapped in the house,
and while pretty devastated by the losses is coping with the help of friends,
and still talking with his neuro about a possible pallidotomy! You can't
keep a good PWP down! When house is rebuilt,Ivan hopes to be back on PD list.

NOTE to BARB PATTERSON: can you temporarily unsub Ivan, so list traffic
won't just get bounced or whatever? Also he asked if you could possible forwar
d (mail) to him any responses he might have had onlist after last Monday?
He's interested*especially*in posts about the situation with Rep.Bilirakis'
aide who hung up on Ivan.
