Here on Vancouver Island, in Nanaimo, particularly, they have decided to have a "Mile of Change" appeal in the malls and door to door on September 28. They have asked us in the Comox Valley to participate. They suggested shoe boxes decorated and 1/2 " masking tape applied face up. They could even apply a bill but basically, any change in their pockets.
