My inlaws live in Cocoa and were having difficulties a few years ago. I called the local Office on Aging to find out if they could get transportation (to doctors' offices, pharmacies, etc.) and some in-home help with chores, cleaning, etc. I was referred to a social worker who said they are very overloaded, but some help is available. They could offer a person who would come in about once every week and do some light cleaning. They also have transport available, though you have to call a day in advance. Orlando may be much more efficient than Cocoa, as Cocoa is located in such a long and awkward county. I'd definitely start by phoning the Office of Aging. Explain the problem, and you should get a referral to the appropriate source of help.
