Hi everyone! Greetings from Loma Linda, California!

My name is Hua Liu, nick name Howard. I got my medical degree
back in China years ago worked as a psychiatrist for some years,
and am now studying toward a PhD in pharmacology here at Loma
Linda Uinversity, California.

I'm now working with Dr. Robert Iacono, the neurosurgeon who did
the first posteroventro-pallidotomy (PVP) in the United States,
on the electrochemical aspects of Parkinson's disease. Although
my work is basically research oriented, I have great sympathy
and interest in patients with PD as well, not just the disease
itself.

Parkinson's disease in being extensively investigated at this
moment all over the world and I'm happily to say that Loma Linda
being one of the PD surgery/research centers. We're working on
perfecting our PVP procedures and characterizing this disease
clinically and electrochemically. We hope to find out the
appropriate treatment for untypical PD, as we have done for
patients with typical PD.

I'm eagerly to learn from both patients who are suffering and
from specialists from all fields.

Howard
