Isn't GDNF in the very earliest of experimental stages? As I understand, right now the testing is to determine the safety (NOT the effectiveness) of the process. After that will come more tests to determine effectiveness. This may indeed be the "miracle" we're all hoping for--but it's not going to come soon. How people get to be experimental subjects is a mystery to me, but no neurologist can, at present, "do" GDNF for a PD patient. Or am I totally confused?
