Folks:
A while ago I forwarded a message about this site, which lists
academic resources of one kind or another. The owner of the site wrote
to another list in response to that message, and here's what he had to say.

Thanks to Nick Carbone for the kind words about Web-Cite
<http://www.web-cite.com>, which were forwarded to me by another member of
the list. I'd just like to follow up on a couple comments in Nick's note:

Web-Cite does not intend to charge users for the service. Rather, we hope
to support the service with advertising. Before the collective hackles
rise, I should say that we intend to keep the advertising
research-oriented, listing new books, for instance, along with the online
content listings.

Users can help make Web-Cite a comprehensive resource by contributing
listings to the database. If any recipients of rhetnt-l have a homepage
with articles or reviews or know of a colleague's online scholarship,
please visit our submissions page and fill in the short form to add the
info to our database. The web could push academic publishing toward an
"authorial dissemination" model, and Web-Cite can bring such work to the
attention of the academic literary community.

Finally, we positively relish user feedback, so if you visit the site,
please take a moment to use our feedback form.

Sincerely,

Cam Balzer
