Barb,
Your question stimulated my curiosity, and I've now located a couple of
studies concerning iron and PD. I don't have the abstracts in front of
me, unfortunately, so I'll only say that they investigated brain damage
due to iron deposits as contributing to PD, and were concerned that in
some PWP, peripheral iron could be picked up and deposited in the brain,
with resulting damage. I don't believe this was the case for all PWP; I
have the impression that it was only true for a few people, possibly
with a genetic disorder.

As for the desiccated liver, I'm not sure why this would be preferable.
Iron is generally best absorbed from animal products rather than
supplements or plant products, so it should be best absorbed from liver.
How that would affect peripheral iron, I can't say.

I'd definitely ask your neuro about this one.

Best regards,
Kathrynne
