hello all,

i take 20mg prozac per day; 10mg at breakfast, and 10mg at lunch. i've been
taking prozac for 6 years.

i believe that i have an inherited tendency to clinical depression [cd] and
that this tendency, combined with pd, and a couple of stressful years re my
business, all contribute to what i believe is a slight 'tilt' in my
chemical makeup.

my response to prozac, after trying a couple of other alternatives [non
ssri], convinced me that prozac was helping restore the 'tilt' to an almost
normal level. [or as 'normal' as i can ever be!]

i also take eldepryl: 10 mg per day; 5mg at breakfast, and 5 mg at lunch.
i've been taking eldepryl for the same length of time that i've been taking
sinemet, i.e. since diagnosis in 1988.

i haven't noticed any 'serotonin syndrome' symptoms from the combination of
eldepryl and prozac.

i know there has been some controversy about the combination of eldepryl
and sinemet, but i'm not convinced that the initial studies showing
benefits with eldepryl have been disproved yet.

i have 'experimented' once or twice, with reducing my eledepryl level, and
definitely noticed a worsening of symptoms after a few days. [my symptoms
are primarily stiffness and slowness, not tremour]

of course, all of the above is what works for me. we all have our own
chemical idiosyncracies, and certainly parkinson's qualifies for the
disease 'with many faces', no pun intended.

who still hasn't 'met' another parkie yet. there should be between 100 and
200 here, according to population experts, but they must all be in hiding.
