On Tue, 17 Sep 1996 15:53:01 -0400 Barbara Mallut <[log in to unmask]> In response to Ernie (who asked: Does anyone else have these symptoms) wrote one of the best explanations I can imagine of how life appears to a sufferer from this dreadful many faceted disease. She concluded with the statement that .... "... NOTHING about Parkinson's is "trivial" for anyone who has it, I believe". I only wish I had half her eloquence, but then I am only a carer not a patient. I also wish that the community had a better understanding of the disease. It must be bad enough not knowing whether one will be able to complete a simple task at a given time, without having to explain this to politely (more or less) un-understanding onlookers, who regard the sufferer with a mixture of bemusement and disbelief. Incidentally, I am sure everyone has noticed how conversations about the sufferer with such people tend to be conducted in the third-person. It's almost as though he/she wasn't really all there! Barbara, your good humoured tolerance and insight is an inspiration not only to fellow sufferers, but also to people such as myself who experience the disease only at second-hand Take care, Mark.
