If you DON'T inform your insurance company of something which might well
be considered significant in the (hopefully unlikely) event you have an
accident, they would very reasonably say you were keeping relevant
information from them, and your insurance cover is invalid!

In UK we have some insurance compnies who specialise in the elderly and
the disabled. Premiums from them are often rather better than most other
insurance companies.
