Hmmmmm - I suspect it may not be quite as simple as that. Most of these
drugs which have serious (potential) side-effects also seem to be prone
to withdrawal symptoms: thus, while your PD MIGHT not have been
benefitting a great deal, your body was accustomed to the intake, and
told you loudly about it when discontinued.

i do know that Pergolide and Ropinirole both have warnings that you
should not discontinue them except under medical guidance!
