As a part of my work, I visit manufacturers of electronic equipment in my
territory.  It was in this manner that I learned about some new equipment
being developed at Washington University in Saint Louis, MO, that allows a
hole to be drilled in one's brain with minimal damage.  A one page technote
on this device was published in  Scientific American for August, 1996, and
it might be of interest to many.
