Hi: EQUAL is the trade name for aspartame which is generic. Sweet&Low is saccharin. The only trait they have in common is the sweetness, but chemically and biologically abd nutritionally, they are totally different. Aspartame breaks up (hydrolyzes) into two different amino acids. Like other amino acids from other foods (proteins), they compete with L-Dopa (another amino acid yet) for the brain sites. MM
