As all of you are too much aware by now, the injury to my brain is entirely
post-synaptic. Meaning that I have enough dopamine, just no where for it to
go. Now, Leva dopa obviously does not work on this kind of damage.
I have been helped a great deal by your messages on the pallidus and
pallidotomy. What I am wondering is this: Are there any drugs that
temporarily inhibit the production of dopamine. I know there are drugs out
there that do this, but I don't know how safe, or legal for that matter, they
are.
Do you think that this kind of action might work on me, the same way a
pallidotomy does on patients with damage to their substancia nigra? I mean,
do you think that less dopamine might balance the chemical signals in a brain
with pallidal damage.
Hope someone can help.
