DEPRENYL - SELEGILINE

Tell your doctor,nurse and pharmacist if you
-have allergies
-are pregnant or plan to become pregant
-are breast feeding
-are taking any other medicine, including those you buy yourself such
 as aspirin or cold medicine.
-have any other medical problems.

Take this medicine exactly the way your doctor told you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warning:
-This medicine may cause side effects that are serious or long-
 lasting.  Talk to your doctor about this.
-If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible.
 However, if you do not remember the missed dose until late afternoon
 or evening, skip it.  Do not double dose.
-If you are taking 10 mg a day or less for Parkinson's disease, you do
 not have to follow a special diet.
-If you are taking more than 10 mg of this medicine a day:
 --You may have a dangerous reaction, like sudden high blood
   pressure, if you eat or drink certain foods or drinks, or if you
   take other medicines.  Ask your doctor, nurse of pharmacist for a
   list of these foods, drinks, and medicines.
 --Check with your doctor right away if you have very bad chest pain,
   headache, nausea, or vomiting; large pupils in your eyes; sweating more than
   usual (possibly with fever or cold, clammy skin); or stiff or sore
   neck.  These things may be signs of very high blood pressure.
 --Remember that the foods, drinks, and medicines on your list may
   still react with this medicine and cause problems for 2 weeks
   after you stop taking this medicine.
-Do not get up fast when you are lying down or sitting.  You may faint
 or get dizzy.
-If you think you may have taken an overdose of this medicine,  check
 with your doctor.
-Do not give any of your medicine to others.  It may hurt them.
-Do not leave this medicine where children can get it.

Tell your doctor if you notice any of these possible side effects:
  More common--increase in unusual movements of body; mood or mental
   changes.
  Less common or rare--bloody or black, tarry stools; difficulty in
    speaking; difficult or frequent urination; dizziness or
    lightheadedness, especially when getting up from a lying or sitting
    position; hallucinations; irregular heartbeat; lip smacking or
    puckering, puffing of cheeks, rapid or worm-like movements of
    arms, legs, face, neck, and back; loss of balance control;
    restlessness or desire to keep moving; severe stomach pain; swelling
    of feet or lower legs; twisting movements of body; vomiting of blood
    or material that looks like coffee grounds; wheezing, difficulty in
    breathing, or tightness in chest.
Some side effects are not serious.  However, tell your doctor if these
bother you or do not go away:
  More common--Abdominal or stomach pain; dizziness or feeling faint;
  dry mouth; nausea or vomiting; trouble in sleeping.
Also tell your doctor if you have any other side effects.
