It may be of use to those of you pondering a relationship between the on-off-on (flicker) frequency of lighting and the way you feel to know that the flicker frequency is twice the powerline frequency. This is because the current goes to zero twice in each cycle. Thus, the flicker frequency in the US is 120 times/sec. This be important if actual times/sec do enter into the relationship.
