George, I would vote no in spite of the potential useful information that could be gathered. The problem is that once something gets on a computer somewhere there exists the real possibility that people who might use it for against the PD patient in employment, insurance, credit etc. I think many if not most of us were somewhat secretive early in our diagnosis for various reasons. The mandatory reporting serves no public health benefit (ie like VD) and may discourage full participation in treatment. Charles T. Meyer, M.D. Madison, WI
