Laurie.. My pallidotomy was indeed covered by Medicare.  I understand that
shortly after I had the surgery (It wasn't my fault, people!!!) <grin>
Medicare changed their policy about paying for pallidotomies claiming them to
be "experimental."  However, as I understand it, there are amy number of folks
STILL getting Medicare to pay for the surgery.  GO ASK!

Maybe it's a case of the "squeaky wheel getting the oil?"

I think it is very generous of you both to even offer private consultation
or individual support as you do.  If the pallidotomy was available thru
medicare I would have my mother inl aw get it in a heart beat.
Unfortunately neither she nor I can afford it.
