Pat: Welcome! It seems to me that I recall several months ago that some insurance companies made an announcement that they were only going to authorize coverage for Pallidotomies performed WITH the micro-electrode recording step in the procedure. I think it was Blue Shield or Blue Cross. They were going to consider Pallidotomies performed WITHOUT this step investigational. That might be a reason why they denied this particular surgery. Does the facility were he was going to have the surgery use this form of the surgery?
