Hello all - My Aunt 65/1yr diagnosed is the one in my life w/ PD. Although she has only been diagnosed for 1 yr, the symptoms have been there for at least 4 years however she refused to see the dr. about it. I'm worried that she is not doing all she can to feel better and take care of herself. She rarely sees her dr. (twice since she's been dx and her next appt. isn't for another 10 months). She takes Sinemet three times a day. she is in a lot of pain when she walks - she says her knee hurts. She can walk for about 5 minutes max. She has always been a very active person - however I feel she is letting the PD take over her. She seems to be in denial - although we are very close, she hates and won't talk about her PD. The sinemet has seemed to stabalize her - I don't see a lot of improvement though! What can be expected from Sinemet? Any suggestions? How helpful have support groups been for those who have gone? thanks, tina
