I'm not sure of this spelling, but I am sure I've got it (my graphics are so
micro even I cannot read them anymore.)

There was some discussion of this here last week, I believe. I have a few
modest tips that may be helpful to some, although each is pretty obvious:

1. Only use lined paper and make the letters start and finish at the top and
bottom lines - we're talking the need to be legible here, not pretty.

2. Only use capital letters. For some reason they're easier for me to form

3. Print only

4. Try changing the way you print most letters and numbers. For instance, start
L from the bottom right rather than from the top. In fact, my changes have been
to start most of them from the bottom. A 4 I start with the straight up and
down line, from the bottom, and then the other line from the lower end, etc. I
think perhaps the relative awkwardness of printing things this way causes them
to be bigger.

4. Don't try to write anything longer than one sentence. I have a laptop
computer and a portable battery operated printer. I just saw a portable word
processor in a store - looks like a laptop computer but costs only $3-400.
I use Quicken to write my checks (about $45 - Microsoft Money does the same and
is only about $30), do my taxes with Turbo Tax (about $35 - and a great
program). I've got a 35 year old portable typewriter to fill in forms, etc.
My laptop came with a cheapo personal organizer program that has a daily
calendar and To Do list I use most days. It also has a database for storing
phone #'s (I screwed up a lot of those before I realized how bad my writing had
become - 3's and 7's look alike, 9's and 1's too.)

5. Get somebody else to write things for you when you can.

6. I've thought about getting one of those pocket personal organizer things that
has a keyboard and/or one of those new voice recorders that are real small
because they use some kind of a chip instead of a micro tape to store the
recording. (So far, I am still able to understand my voice at least!)

I've been doing some part-time work with some people who don't know what I have.
I just told them I had lousy handwriting and there was nothing I could do about
it.
