There's a letter on page 2 of the CAUT Bulletin for November on plagiarism via the Internet. Robert Dawson of Saint Mary's says that the easy accessibility of materials from the Internet also means that it's easy to catch plagiarists -- faculty can download the paper too. I assume he's referring to papers available through such sites as "schoolsucks", rather than to materials more widely dispersed on the web.
