Any suggestions on tremor control? Propranalol is a beta-blocker - it's not so much aimed at tremor as aimed at calming you down! It's good for reducing stress-induced tremor, but I'm not sure if it tackles PD tremor. -- Jeremy Browne, Hampshire, UK [log in to unmask] Shaking Hands BBS, Fidonet 2:252/160 (+44 1252 626233, also FAX) Propranolol-hcl or inderal is good for the tremor of many parkinsonians, because many parkinsonians have a postural tremor component mixed with the rest tremor. My wife, who has idiopathic P.D.(tremor dominant type-not postural instability & gait disturbance type) noticed an appreciable reduction in her tremor on taking 60 mg of inderal-LA daily. A further reduction in tremor was observed with the addition of the anticonvulsant-mysoline or primidone-125 mg daily. I have also read that inderal is good for counteracting the cardiotoxic effects of sinemet (levodopa).Inderal is not recommended though for asthmatics or in patients who have had heart failure.
