Hello Fello Parkies!
I have been reading the voluminous mail for several months now and ,
frankly I'm absolutely amazed at the variety and depth of the discussion.
I could have replied many times to letters that made my day, but I
chose the easy way out: take the goodies and run! After all , it was all I
could do to keep up with reading the mail, let alone answer it. But
recent events have forced the issue, and now it's payback time. Thanks for
all those gems of wisdom and knowledge too numerous to list, thanks for
caring. I'll single out just one that I have posted on my fridge: David
Boots, your "Principles of Attitudinal Healing" is inspirational. Thanks
to you and countles others for the info and for sharing your knowledge.
I have had PD for at least 6 years ( I was diagnosed about 5 years ago ).
Until about a month ago I  could honestly say that I was hangin' in there ;
I had few problems other than slowness and inability to write. I taught
high school history for 32 years and loved it. But the writing appeared on
the wall when I had to ask students to write something for me. Last Feb,
I took early retirement without a pension by using something called
commuted value(in short , take your money and run!) . It turned out to be
one of the best decisions of my life.
Last summer, my wife and I took a 2 month trip to Australia, NZ, Fiji and
Norfolk Island. We had a great time and my meds kept the old demon in
check. Not long after we returned about Aug 19, things started to
deteriorate. I had returned to 2 eldepryll (5 mg) a day after being on one
a day for a month, but other than that, I can't see any reason for the
change. Briefly, my 3 Senemet CR(200/50) ran out early and left me almost
helpless in some cases. I couldn't make change , dress myself, get a
decent nignt's sleep, peel an orange, or even pee straight!
Anyway, my neuro. said to take another SENEMET before bed. Now I can
get a good sleep till about 3:30 ,when the meds wear off. And every day is
a surprise. Sometimes the meds dont kick in until noon , sometimes mid
afternoon. But there are still more good days than bad, I just try to enjoy
them. I'm now on 3 Permax (.25mg) a day.
I have two questions : 1. Does anyone have any experience with USANA or
BODYWISE vitamin supplements? I have read that these can help PD.
2. How can I keep my "ons and offs" more consistent? I have read some of
the letters on protein early in the day. I try to avoid it . My diet is
mostly vegetarian.
I would be greatful for any suggestions.

Sincerely , Brian Black, Simcoe ,On, Canada
