Dale, I have read ,with interest, your postings to the list. I share your enthusiasm in fundraising. I don't really have any solutions to your questions. I would, however, be happy to talk with you about your ideas and share my opinions if you are interested. I am a product of Emory University's research having had a Pallidotomy there 3 years ago.. I also know and work extensively with the Parkinson researchers at Emory and can attest to their brlliance, tell you about the types of research going on there, and can even introduce you to them personally. I am also afiliated with PAN (Parkinson Action Neetwork), APDA and NPF there.. I travel nationwide speaking to support groups, educating and counseling, as well as have access to some key contacts. There are currently 2 PD Health Fairs that will be taking place in 1997. Cincinnati, Ohio will hold there 2nd annual Keep Moving FOr PD the first weekend in March. IT is a wonderful educational experience as well as a "non-partisan" fundraising event. The other one is also a 2nd annual event - A Parkinson Health Fair in Perry, Ga., which is the recently retired Senator Sam Nunn's hometown. I participated in both of them last year as a key speaker and will be present at both again this year. It will be held the 2nd week in May.. I don't want to overburden you with a resume of my work - But, if I can add value in any way, please feel free to give me a call. My home office # is 912-452-1548 and my voice mail at Emory is 404-727-2627. If you feel more comfortable, you can simply E-mail me at [log in to unmask] Good luck with your endeavors.. I look forward to hearing from you. Terrie Whitling
