A patient who is scheduled for a second pallidotomy next month is having second thoughts because she has heard that there is evidence that speech problems worsen after the second. The family has discussed this with a lot of those in the know but have had no such indication from their own doctor. So, they asked me to post this for them. Would anyone who has had two surgeries, or knows someone who has, e-mail or post what you know on this subject, what the problem is and how serious it can be, also any other side effects of a second pallidotomy.
