Hi Mary:

I read your email with a lot of interest. I was diagnosed 7 years ago this
coming January. Put on 2 eldepryl per day for 3 months, then 3 25/100
sinemet added which caused me totally creepy, scary dystonia. Cut back over
about a month to 1/4 of 25/100 3 x a day plus 2 eldepryl. Stayed on that
until maybe 4-5 months ago, now take 1/3 sinemet 3 x day (7, 11:30, 4:30)
plus the eldepryl. Have stayed fine, so far, pretty much, on that. I read
some book early on which promoted the idea of not having the meds during the
night; it made sense to me, so I have never wanted the long-acting sinemet.
Early in the morning I sometimes get the shakes for 5 minutes or so, and I
use a holder for my bridge cards and a shuffler to save time. Some days I
feel great and take a walk and tear around; some days I feel sort of weak,
like when getting up from a low chair, but I always feel good when I read
some of the nutty jokes on this listserv, giggle, giggle.......good luck, Liz
S. P. S.,
I have not quit eldepryl because as far as I've heard, there's only one
negative study. Also, how is it possible that only one place in the whole
U.S. can make an accurate diagnosis of the horrible Parkinsons? That doesn't
make sense.
