        Albert:

You picked a great poem even though you couldn't think of
        the title or the author.

Duane Yothers was right! The poem you quote is "Invictus"
        by William Ernest Henley.

     INVICTUS
     William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
     For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud,
     Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate
I am the captain of my soul.

I remember this well as I sang this poem set to music in
the state music festival in my senior year of high school.
At that time I didn't fully feel the power of the words
and verse. I can relate to them well in our current
status and they give hope for success over the problems
faced by Jeannette and all who are PWPD.

Thanks for reminding me and causing me to reflect.

        Best wishes......Jack
