Steve Stockman, swept into office in the 1994 mid-term elections, was unseated in one of three run-off races held in Texas to fill the remaining seats in the U.S. House. Texas voters also sent Democratic incumbent Ken Bentsen back to Washington for a second term and elected Republican Kevin Brady to fill a seat vacated by retiring Rep.
