There are two sorts of people in the world - "radiators" and "drains":
after you meet them, you are affected according to their type.

A drain sucks you dry of enthusiasm, and leaves you feeling less well,
colder.

A radiator warms you, makes you feel better, the world is a better place
for their presence.

It makes simple sense to be a radiator yourself, because those you warm
will warm you in return.
