I took a couple of days away from our discussion and came back to your
last posting with what I had hoped would be a clear eye and mind but I seem
to have the same discomfort as before and I think I know why. First let me
say that I really enjoy your writings and in fact I often wonder" what
would Brian say" about such and such when I'm reading a particular posting.
Secondly let me reassure you that I didn't take your use of the
exclamation point as a "little too agressive". In truth I found it, as I
said, to be funny, as in enjoyable. No harm no foul.But if you were at some
time to "rattle' my teeth with an exclamation point I would consider it
above the price I would consider paying for clarity. I do have my limits
but I shouldn't think that even a conversation punctuated by repeated !!!s
would cause a rattle.
Let me now get back to your postings regarding MR.Buck Rogers. I was
looking in the content of what you wrote to discover the source of my
discomfort when I should have been looking at the "intent" of what you were
saying. I think your intent is two-fold. One is to let me know that you
have carved out a niche in this listserv and that I can comment but I'd
best remember that I'm a guest in your house. The second intent is to be
sure that people understand that you will have the last word. I think you
chose your issues carefully,don't stray from your focus,hope to be helpful
and expect to be proven correct. I don't have any trouble with either
intent and when they are combined with your tenacity, brains and precision
they represent a powerful front. I usually don't comment on posting on your
"turf" and I can not recall any comments you have made regarding any issue
in which I'm involved.You would, of course, be welcomed. Enough said! By
me, that is.
